She's won multiple awards and nominations, including a Golden Globe Award. Taylor-Joy dropped out of her school at sixteen to take on a acting career. Anya Taylor Joy was born in Miami Florida on 16 April 1996. Dennis Alan Taylor is a retired banker and Jennifer Marina Joy is a psychologist. The father of her is Argentine of Scottish and English heritage. Her mother is Spanish-English. Taylor Joy has four siblings. One of them is from each of her parents' prior marriages. The family was in Buenos Aires until she was six, after which they moved to the Victoria region of London. According to Taylor-Joy, this removal was extremely difficult for her and she was unable to study English with the intention of moving back to Argentina. She had to switch schools between Northlands to Hill House. In the following year, she joined Queen's Gate School to study dance and perform in the school's productions. Then she dropped out of high school at 16 in order to concentrate on her acting profession. Taylor-Joy had always wanted to be an actor.
